Privacy policy
How we handle your data — under the Liechtenstein Data Protection Act (DSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Last updated: September 2026
Controller
The controller for data processing on this website is Rhein Industries GmbH, Elgagass 11, FL-9496 Balzers, Liechtenstein, [email protected]. We are not required to appoint a data protection officer; please address any request to that email.
Principle
This website is deliberately frugal. We use no tracking cookies, no analytics tool and no advertising networks. We process personal data only when you actively send it to us, or where it is technically necessary to operate the site.
Language preference
When you choose DE or EN, we store your choice in the rhein_language cookie (value de or en) for up to one year. It is used only to give your choice priority over your browser language. You can change it at any time with the language buttons or delete the cookie in your browser. Without this cookie, we use the language preference sent by your browser.
Server log files
When you access this website, the hosting provider automatically records access data in log files: IP address, date and time, page requested, volume of data transferred, referrer and browser identifier. This data is required for secure and stable operation. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is not merged with other data, and log files are deleted after 30 days at the latest.
Contact form and email
If you write to us via the contact form or by email, we process the data you provide — name, email address and message — solely to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps) or (f). We delete this data once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention period applies. Where no form endpoint is configured, the page opens your own email client instead — in that case the data leaves your computer only when you send the message yourself.
Fonts
This website loads the typefaces Cormorant Garamond, IBM Plex Mono and Inter from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited). Your IP address is transmitted to Google so the font files can be delivered. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in consistent presentation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We plan to move to self-hosted fonts, after which this transfer no longer occurs.
Your rights
You have the right to obtain information about the data we hold on you, to have it corrected, erased or its processing restricted, to data portability, and to object to processing based on a legitimate interest. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. An informal message to [email protected] is enough.
Right to complain
If you believe that the processing of your data infringes applicable law, you may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Städtle 38, FL-9490 Vaduz.
Changes
We update this policy when our website or the legal situation changes. The version published here is the one that applies.
